43rd Juried Exhibition: Call for Submissions

The AGN hosts a vibrant juried exhibition showcasing a wide variety of artists and artworks from across the region and beyond. This fall we celebrate our 43rd Juried Exhibition offering participating artists both exposure to the Northumberland County community, as well as an opportunity to meet fellow artists, encourage activity in the visual arts and most importantly support artists.

Please submit application forms in-person at the Gallery when you bring your artwork on Tuesday, November 2 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Download the application forms here.

Meet the Jurors!

Sonya Jones

Sonya JonesSonya Jones, Curator of Collections, has been at The Robert McLaughlin Gallery since 2008. Prior to the RMG, Jones worked for a private art dealer in Toronto, the Canadian Heritage Information Network, and Carleton University Art Gallery. She completed an Honours BA at Carleton University, and a post-graduate certificate in Museum Management and Curatorship at Fleming College. She has curated over 60 collection based exhibitions and 10 contemporary art exhibitions, including the travelling exhibitions The lingering: Toni Hamel, and Jay Dart: Greetings from Yawnder!.

 

 

Jessica Outram

Jessica OutramJessica Outram is a Métis writer, artist, and educator. In her Master of Arts research, she focused on Arts-Informed Inquiry. As the owner of Creativity Coaching Canada she works with artists and writers to nurture their life’s work. Jessica has studied watercolour, acrylic, mixed media, and photography. She regularly offers creativity workshops that focus on attention and ways of noticing using art from a variety of forms, time periods, and locations. Jessica is co-host of Hummingbird, a podcast exploring creativity for writers and artists.

 

 

Susan Taylor 

Susan Taylor

With an educational background in fine arts and management in the not-for-profit sector, Susan is an active advocator for the cultural sector of the Kawarthas. In her position as a founding Board member of the Kawartha Lakes Arts Council, Susan initiated a Cultural Centre Committee of community representatives from cultural organizations within the City of Kawartha Lakes. Dedicated to advancing a healthy rural creative economy through engaging art and cultural programs and services, Susan has developed exhibit and programming partnerships between the City of Kawartha Lakes, Fleming College-Frost Campus, Curve Lake First Nation, Trillium Lakelands School Board District, Canadian Mental Health Association, United Way for the City of Kawartha Lakes, Women’s Resources, Kawartha Lakes Pride, Kawartha Lakes Food Source and the many area cultural organizations of the City of Kawartha Lakes.
