We invite you to explore the AGN’s permanent collection through the personal favourites of our staff. This unique exhibition offers a glimpse into the diverse tastes, stories, and perspectives of the team who work with the collection every day!
The AGN’s Permanent Collection currently consists of over 1,500 works of local, regional, national, and international significance—predominantly by Canadian artists. Highlights include historical portraits of notable Northumberland County citizens, regional landscapes, and a wide range of 20th-century paintings, sculptures, and works on paper.
We’ve made over 500 artworks available for online viewing so far, with more added regularly as part of our ongoing digitization efforts. This initiative is proudly supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Community Building Fund.
As one of our core commitments, the AGN strives to be an accessible educational resource for all. Making our Permanent Collection available online is just one way we’re working to connect more people with art—anytime, anywhere.
