The AGN invites artists from Northumberland County to submit works for The Portrayal of Presence, an exhibition exploring how portraiture and the human figure convey identity, emotion, and existence.
This exhibition will include selected works from the AGN’s permanent collection alongside submissions from regional artists. Together, these works will create a dialogue on how artists across generations and media interpret the essence of being—through realism, abstraction, or conceptual approaches.
Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and mixed media are all eligible. We encourage submissions that reflect the depth of human experience: the intimacy of a gaze, the expression of movement, or the suggestion of presence through form, material, or memory.
Eligibility:
Open to artists residing or working in Northumberland County.
Artist Fees:
Exhibiting artists will be paid professional fees in accordance with CARFAC standards.
Submission Requirements:
• Up to 2 digital images (JPEG, PNG, PDF max 2 MB each)
• Artist statement (150–200 words)
• Artwork details (title, medium, dimensions, year)
• Short biography (100 words)
