Happy holidays!

December 10, 2025

Dear Members and Friends,

As we arrive at the close of another year, I find myself reflecting with deep gratitude on the many moments that have filled our gallery with connection, curiosity, and joy. December always brings a certain stillness—a chance to pause, look around, and appreciate the people and experiences that have shaped our shared journey. For us at the AGN, that gratitude begins with you.

Your presence, enthusiasm, and unwavering support have animated every exhibition, program, and gathering within our walls. Whether you’ve attended an opening, engaged in conversation with an artist, volunteered your time, or simply taken a quiet moment to stand before a work of art that moved you, you have contributed to the vibrant heartbeat of this gallery. We are here because you believe in the power of art to inspire thought, kindle imagination, and strengthen community.

We are also deeply grateful to our funders—especially the Town of Cobourg and Northumberland County—whose ongoing support makes it possible for us to serve our community with meaningful arts programming and cultural leadership. This year, our Board of Directors dedicated tremendous care and thoughtful collaboration to the development of our new strategic plan, which will officially launch in 2026 and guide the gallery into an exciting and ambitious next chapter.

Throughout 2025, we’ve witnessed firsthand how the arts create spaces where people feel seen, welcomed, and uplifted. From school groups encountering contemporary art for the first time, to long-time patrons rediscovering favourite works in our collection, to conversations sparked between strangers during an event—these moments remind us that the arts are far more than objects on walls. They are catalysts for belonging. They bring joy, reflection, healing, and connection in ways that ripple far beyond the gallery doors.

As we step into the festive season, may you find that same sense of wonder in the world around you. May your days be filled with beauty in its many forms—shared laughter, quiet creativity, heartfelt conversation, and perhaps even a visit to the gallery to enjoy the warmth of our community.

On behalf of our entire team, thank you for being part of the Art Gallery of Northumberland. Your support ensures that we can continue to offer meaningful artistic experiences to our region, and it fuels our commitment to nurturing creativity and cultural vibrancy for all.
